Then pretty u era happened right around my finals week so obviously i used that as an excuse to procrastinate even more - and now they're literally one of my top favorite groups. However, their MAMA performance was what made me started paying attention again!! ( here) when i saw it i was like wow - thats how an actual award show performance should be like. Its funny because i used to follow seventeen predebut pretty closely (like back when they were still doing the china/japan/korea unit things) - but then i always joke that they debuted at the wrong time since I was volunteering overseas when they debuted and therefore missed out on the hype. Omg op i cannot believe how much you put in this its amazing ~ as soon as i clicked into a year in videos my jaw dropped at the compilation wow! thanks so much for this, its literally a trip down memory lane~ Not that I don't believe they can't pull off "harder" fare since "Chuck" was awesome! but we've had angsty "dark" concepts for boy bands for awhile so it's a breath of fresh air with 17's style. I love their bright youthful energy and I think it's a great niche for them to be in. For me, Seventeen songs tend to be overall generic (but catchy!) when you just listen to them but when these songs are coupled with their energetic GO HARD or GO HOME!! performances, the songs get elevated to a whole other level. I was unimpressed with the song when it first came out and I didn't even finish watching the MV *blasphemy, I know!* but Hoshi's musical inspired choreography was so energetic and so unique in the Kpop world that I keep on watching all the different performances until the song becomes an earworm as well. "Adore you" didn't get into my head until I got caught by the pointing finger move and that's actually also true for "Pretty You". "Mansae" was my first bop from them mainly cause I love that waving dance at the end which I thought was fresh and cute. My path to these life ruiners started with Jeonghan's hair in the Girl Group Tribue Medley performance which then proceeded to Vacuum Jun in Weekly Idol and ended with their stint on "One Fine Day" which honestly was the BEST introduction to them because they were versatile, competent, funny, and because I'm a foodie, all that cooking was a sure way to ensure my lurve. Oh what a nice way to unwind after a work day! Imma just gonna sit on my comfy couch and settle in for all the spazzing and gleeful squeeing over all the pretties! and the cute! THERE IS SO MUCH CUTE OMG!!! Add your favourite SEVENTEEN stories/videos/photos/moments in the comments below!!! Just compiling this post was a huge trip down memory lane. They've accomplished SO MUCH in just a year.
